Redecorate your home with plants

Indoor plants and interior
Winter

The interest in decorating with plants is increasing, and more and more people want plants that bring new energy. Plants can transform a dull space into a sculptural eye-catcher, radiate elegance, or be a colorful energy bomb. These plants give your home a completely new character!

Plants have a unique ability to give the decor a new expression, and they are an easy and inexpensive way to get a fresh start. They fill us with energy and inspiration, and they can both offer a cozy corner and be a sober element that exudes elegance.

New plants by season

The interest in indoor plants is greater than ever – 69 percent of Swedes consider plants an important part of the decor, according to a report from HUI Research.

– We use plants to reflect how the seasons change. We replace the Christmas flowers with fresh green plants to get a fresh start to the new year. Before Easter, we get an early start on spring by bringing in spring flowers, says Julia Romberg, category manager for dry goods at Plantasjen.

Use plants as sculptures

Plants have also risen high on the wish list of interior design enthusiasts. Greenery in special shapes can become a central part of the room’s decor, just like a glass figurine or a grand lamp.

– Interior design enthusiasts are looking for the unique, which drives the demand for the sculptural plant as an important home decor detail, says trend expert Stefan Nilsson.

Get inspired by different styles

For those who want something out of the ordinary, an extra trendy tip is Monstera deliciosa ‘Thai Constellation’. This Monstera’s variegated leaves in green, white, and beige mesmerize the viewer! It is the plant world's answer to an endless starry sky and is highly prized among plant collectors. It is rare and not always available, but occasionally it can be found in Plantagen stores – keep an eye out and fingers crossed!

Other exciting green plants can be found in the beautiful Goeppertia genus, formerly known as Calathea. A couple of philodendron varieties also stand out a bit extra.
